Ike's Affects

The eye of hurricane Ike is going north of Haiti and the whole island of Hispaniola, but the affects are still strong here. We live in the southern part of Haiti and we are still seeing high winds and heavy rains (it has been raining since about midnight). The areas of Haiti that have been flooded the most and that all of the news articles are focusing on are to the north. They are most certainly getting more rain becaue of Ike. Even though the eye isn't going over Haiti, the country is not getting better and drying out - it is getting worse. They need your prayers!

I don't have all the details yet, but the Baptist Haiti Mission seems to have been receiving high favor (especially lately) from other organizations that donate food and supplies - they are looking for our help to distribute donations to the Haitian people. This is great news and shows that the Mission is doing good work in Haiti and is trustworthy!
