We have seen and talked with Wallace and Elanor Turnbull a number of times. Today after church service, she said that she would like to have lunch with us to get to know us. It was a great lunch!
We talked for 2-3 hours and listened to many stories of their beginning here. Back in the 1940's they came as frontier missionaries. There was no electricty, no plumbing, no "stores" for things like groceries. There was very little of anything. Their first "house" didn't have a roof. They lived among the Haitians and helped them in any way they could. They did it in Jesus' name. They mostly let their actions and reactions do the preaching. They built this facility here in Haiti and a couple years before they turned 80, they turned over the responsibility of the Mission to others. They are now 83 and are still involved with the Mission.
