Adoption Preparation

As we prepare for tomorrow's meeting with the birth mom, we are trying to think of all the things that we need try to make sure happen. The Lord calls us to do whatever is in our power - do all that we can - and He'll take care of the rest. Somethings are within our range of control (or perceived control) and somethings are way beyond us. What we can "control" is our responsibility (although God always has veto power). What we cannot "control" (which is everything, really) God takes care of.

We are praying that the birth mother brings everything that she needs to bring to the appointment. We are praying that every ones vehicle makes it to the testing place OK (us, birth mom, Dr., and the US Embassy rep) and brings all of their things.

We are also supposed to be one week away from being out of MOI...I hope we do get out in one week. We are trying to do our part and do as much as we can to help it move along. God has it all under control.

How do you know that you are one week away from getting out of MOI?!!
Praying you do FINALLY get out!
We finally entered MOI early June. GLA doesn't give us any specifics of a timeline - just when we enter and when we exit each stage . . .UGHHHHH! (don't get me wrong - we are TRULY BLESSED having our daughter at GLA - they are amazing)
Tell Tina, Gwen said "hi"!! : ) I can't believe it's been almost a year already - since we were in Haiti last year and we met in person for the very first time.

Hi Gwen! Tina says HI too!

This IS Haiti so we only THINK/HOPE we will be out. We were told this by our orphanage director, and we hope she is not wrong.

GLA is one of the best, no doubt, of taking care of the kids (from what we hear). They really are a blessing! We really want to get there and check the place our. We can get pictures of your daughter or deliver something if you want to send something (unless you can already do that through GLA). Just let us know!

Thank you for your prayers, Gwen!

Ken - Thanks for your offer of getting pictures of our daughter, or taking her something . . .
GLA is soooo amazing - we get MONTHLY updates of our daughter, with pictures, current height and weight!!
GLA has a forum - for other adoptive families - so we usually find out when other families are traveling from the US to GLA, and some people will take small packages to our children. Or GLA does allow us to mail things to FL and then the mission flights deliver? I have only ever used other adoptive families - its usually quicker this way! : )
GLA just had some of their older children to the Mission - see their blog post here . . http://www.glahaiti.org/toddler_house_blog

I CANNOT wait to see your post that Lou's ADOPTION is FINAL!!!
