Adoption: Happy 26-month Anniversary

Lou,

Today, we want to publicly express our deepest apologies for the fact that you are "celebrating" your 26th month in the Haitian adoption process - we hope you have a happy day anyway. When we started, we were told that 18 months would be longest and had been the longest. You, my little buddy, are an exceptional child (in many ways).

We are thankful to God that he led us here to be with you in our care. We were able to give you our attention and guidance - something that would not be possible in the orphanage. We are happy to able to be living with you now!

We hope that we can stop counting soon and that you will get to meet your new grandmas and grandpas and your one and only aunt and uncle.

We'll see you in about an hour when you wake up.

Ken and Tina -

Lou is truly blessed to have you in his life. I'm sure you are missing your families and anxious to spend some time back in Minnesota with everyone.

Thank you for the Livesay blog - I'm addicted to all of your blogs as it helps me understand the truth of living in Haiti on a daily basis. I'm inspired by each one --- your blog as well as the others that LivesayHaiti refers to.

It appears that a VERY sad event has happened and I do not believe that the group from Open Door will make it to Baptist Haiti Mission. I am going to send the money straight through the BHM website so that you can use it for WHATEVER you want.

Joe, the man who has been our driver in Haiti for the past 10 years received a phone call. His 13-year old son was struck by a police car while he was walking on the sidewalk. His only son died.

This is so sad because 4 years ago Joe's wife died and this past December his mother died. I became quite attached to his two daughters while I was in Haiti. His 12-year old Joanna was in need of a lot of hugs because her grandmother had died.

It is hard to understand how some families suffer so many tragedies.

Pastor Dio (who you met briefly) is feeling a little tense as his sister is scheduled to have a tumor removed.

I know you are stuggling now. I pray for you and if there is any room in your hearts, please pray for Joe and his daughters. The funeral is on Saturday.

I hope it is right to press donate on the website and reference Ken and Tina Schlorf.

Peace and blessings.

I'm glad you can at least celebrate together! How sad if you were apart all that time :o( . Praying for a "speedy" (haha, too late for that!) resolution.

Debbie: Thanks for your comments and your encouragement. I am sorry to hear about the incident with Joe's son. We will pray for him and his family as well as Pastor Dio.

Thank you for your prayers and for your donation! Calling the number on the website is the right thing to do - tell them that you are donating to us! 1-800-359-5174

June: YES! We are very blessed by God to be able to be here with him. We sometimes talk about how Lou would be so very different if we did not have him here with us...it's sad to think about that.

Speedy from here on out would be great! Thank you for your prayers!
